Transportation
Who We Are
Ports Petroleum created our transportation division to better serve our customers. We have over 20 transports strategically positioned throughout Ohio and in Western Pennsylvania. In Ohio, we have trucks located in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Wooster and Youngstown. In Pennsylvania we have trucks located in Pittsburgh.
Our focus is to provide the best customer service possible by employing safe, responsible and friendly drivers.
What We Offer
Vacations
As
an employee you will receive vacation hours January
1st of each year. The number of eligible days is as
outlined below:
- Employees who are hired PRIOR to July 1st of any year will be eligible for 5 days (40 hours) of vacation the following January 1st and 2 weeks every year there after. If you have been employed for 12 months as of January 1st, you will be eligible for 10 days (80 hours) of vacation.
- All employees must be employed at least six months before they can begin to accumulate vacation hours. Therefore, if an employee is hired July 1st through December 31st, they will begin to accumulate their vacation hours the next January 1st.
- All employees with ten years of consecutive service with Ports Petroleum Company, Inc. will earn 3 weeks (120 hours) of vacation.
- Vacation pay is determined by multiplying the employee’s prevailing hourly rate times 8 hours for each eligible vacation day.
Holidays
At
the Corporate Office, there are six (6) paid
holidays per year
- New Years Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day

- * Drivers will be required to work some holidays. However, drivers that work a holiday will receive a comp. day to use at their convenience.
Uniforms
All
drivers are provided with the following items:
- 5 Uniform Shirts
- A Winter Coat
- Baseball Caps (Optional)
Benefits
The
Company makes available the following insurance
programs to employees after 60 days of consecutive
employment:
- Major Medical Insurance for full time employees and their families
- Voluntary Dental insurance for part time and full time employees and their families
- Voluntary Life insurance for full time employees and their families
- Voluntary Disability insurance for full time employees
- Group Supplemental Health Insurance for part time employees and their families
The employee contribution for insurance is payroll deducted on a weekly basis. The employee portion of the coverage may be adjusted periodically to reflect rate changes to the company’s premium. Should you decide not to participate in either medical insurance program upon your original eligibility date, you must wait until the next open enrollment to join.
Employees are eligible to join the 401k savings plan after 12 months of service, work at least 1000 hours each year and are 21 years of age. Employees may join the plan during open enrollment periods, which are January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st. The Company contributes ¼% of the first 4% that you save. Eligible employees may participate in the 401k plan subject to all terms and conditions of the plan.

Qualifications
- 23 Years of age or older
- Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Clean criminal record
